My name is Ludy Lagos, I am 26 years old, I love learning Foreign Languages; I am a creative person because I love making new things with my hands as crafts and all related with personal beauty. I have one of the best talents “sing” although I do not have musical education, I try to do the best. I love teaching especially to children given that with them is that we can develop our professional life and my experience working with them has been significant. My expectations about teaching is exploring all sources that are within my reach and work with passion every single day being for students an open way which they will follow; as an invisible teacher, facilitate their learning in order to get a valuable learning by them exploring their knowledge, thus they become active students.

My name is Cleary Campos; I am 22 years old. I love several things like contribute to save the planet and animals but what I love the most is “art” acting and dancing are my passions. Since I was a child, I figure it out and get on dance; unfortunately, due to health problems I stopped dancing professionally at ENAD and whatever I can on stage to get a big smile from the public and give them a nice moment in the theater. As a teacher, my expectation is to be a teacher who my students will remember the rest of their lives, in other words teaching them not only the required lessons but also about life and help them to reach their potential and goals; summarizing up an invisible teacher, a facilitator.

On the first day of classes, the teacher arrives to the classroom and she asks to students how they feel on their first classes day. The teacher presents herself giving personal information as: My name is Julia, I am 22 years old, I really like to watch cartoons, my favorite color is blue and I do not like misbehave people. Then, Teacher applies an activity with children to get to know them.

  • They make a circle and students give the first name with a one of their hobbies.
For example: My name is Ludy and I like to dance.

  • The next student has to do the same but first repeating the information of the previous person and so on.
For example: Her name is Ludy and she likes to dance, my name  is Cleary and I like to act.

Grade: 1st
Ages: 6-7 years old.
School: Public
Students´ number: 40

As future teachers, we have to be a facilitator for students, being only a guide who shows the way that students have to follow in order to encourage students to explore their own knowledge, thus students are able to think and be creative, so that the students ‘role must be active.

The best ways to seating arrangement for children of first grade are:

1.Stadium: Students tend to share ideas and work better; besides students tend to interrupt others.

2.Rows/Columns: It is easy to keep discipline with the whole section; otherwise it is necessary to have enough space in the classroom.

1.We are good listeners.
2.We are respectful to everyone.
3.We patiently wait for recess to eat.
4.We raise our hand to participate.
5.We imagine new things.
6. We present our assignments on time

We can learn from mistakes and we can move on.

1. When students arrive to the classroom and they are disorganized; to indicate that the class is going to start, the teacher starts ringing a bell using the phase Ready Steady, and the students go to their seats.

2. When students are disturbing the class and they are not paying attention, the teacher says aloud then phrase One, two, three, eyes on me! and students answer saying the phrase aloud One, two, three, eyes on you!  Pointing out to the teacher with their index fingers.

3. To indicate that students, have to stand up in order to make an activity the phrase that the teacher will use as an attention signal will be: “Soldiers on March, Attention”, then students will immediately get up from their seats.

Teacher has to give very clear instructions in order to children do not get confused at the moment of developing an activity as games, assignation of classwork or for doing homework, thus teacher gets the planned objectives of lessons with students.

Ø  Write instructions on the board.
Ø  Teachers voice is vital to get students´ attention.
Ø  Teacher has to assure if all students are focused on what she or he is saying.
Ø  It is necessary to give examples in order to guide students.
Ø  Teacher has to repeat the instructions twice at least.
Ø  Teacher asks to student to repeat what she or he has already said, to corroborate if they understood.
Ø  Stablish a time for any activity to do.

1.      Apply games and competitions between students. Children love play, moreover it helps to break the boring routine and, on this way, they acquire a very significant learning.

2.      Work in pairs or in groups. On this way students who have a dilatory learning or have problems learning, they can work with someone else to catch the idea in a better way. Also, it is easier for the teacher given that she or he takes advantage from smartest students as help for the rest of children.

3.      Congratulate and give to children stimulus. (stickers of happy faces, stars, give applauses when they have participated in an activity, check their works using phrases like: good job, excellent, well done, thank you and so on). With all that incentives students do their best and work with passion.

4.      Making use of realia
Students can imagine o relate topics with the nature and the whole world.

The first thing to do is keeping in calm because a negative answer to a misbehavior can bring consequences.

Ø  If someone speaks while the teacher is giving classes, the teacher has to be quiet for a while, looking directly at that person to indicate that she or he has to make silence for continuing with the class or the teacher mentions the name of the kid with a strong tone of voice, immediately the kid will be quiet.

Ø  When a child tries to get ashamed to another classmate, the teacher has to nag this kid and remember the rule about respect each other.

Ø  For children who say taboo words, the teacher writes the name of the students on the corner of the board with a draw sad face, at the end of the class, the teacher talks with those students to help them to improve that negative behavior.

Ø  If someone eats in class, the kid will have to share the food the next day with the classmate who is next to him or her.

Ø  For children who use objects in class, the teacher takes it out from the kid and the teacher gives back to a person in charge.

Students will wait outside of the classroom their teacher making a line in an organized way; next to the door will be a chart with pictures about six different ways of greetings, then students choose the picture of how they want to be greeted by their teacher.

Teacher calls her students one by one using different questions such as:

Robert, are you here?
Jeremy, are you with us today?
Smith, are you present?
Sophia, are you in the school?
Isaac, are you on your seat?
Alice, are you with your teacher?
Kendal, are you in this classroom?

Students have to answer: yes, I am.

Teacher calls her students who arrive late in a private way and asks why he or she is late.
Students who arrive late to classes have to dance a song called “the chicken” moving every part of the body while the classmates are singing.

For example:

The chicken, the chicken with a wing
The chicken with two wings.
The chicken with a leg.
The chicken with two legs.
The chicken with the peak-
The chicken with the tail.

Then, teacher remembers the stablished policy about being on time.
If students keep going late to classes, the teacher will have a private talk with students who arrive late.

Teacher tries to make conscience to students of being cooperative each other, that if one of them do not carry materials to the classroom, classmates should share them.
On the other hand, teacher must be prepared with necessary material to provide to students who do not carry materials.

First of all, students who return to classes after an absence have to present an available excuse to the teacher and the student has to take the obligation of outdating with the topics seen in classes and assignments with the teachers help.

At the end of the day, the teacher will introduce to the students a marionette called “Mr. Totto”, then the teacher will tell to students that this character has a lot of questions (those questions related with all the topics given in the day). Finally, the teacher by Mr. Totto will ask questions to children in general to corroborate if they understood the lessons. Teacher will apply this final activity daily and students will already know that when “Mr.Totto” arrives, it is a question time.

To indicate the class is going to finish, and students have to putting their things in their backpacks, the teacher starts ringing the bell again, singing: Hey, Hey, hey train on board, then the students repeat the same phrase almost at the same time as the teacher, finally, student make a line to leave the classroom in order.

Procedures for assigning classwork and homework:

For assigning classwork, the teacher will organize students individually, in pairs or in groups depending if it is necessary.
 For assigning homework:
a) The teacher will assign a color for each subject-matter, for example: Mathematics-blue, Spanish-red, Social Studies-yellow, Science-green and so on.
b) The teacher will vertically draw charts on the board filling them with different color markers, that color will guide to students which subject-matter to use to write the homework.
c)Next to the chart, the teacher will write the homework.
The teacher will write all homework at the end of the class.

    Procedures for collecting completed work:

The teacher will locate several colored boxes on her desk related with the color of the subject- matter mentioned before, then the teacher will indicate students the appropriate time to put the homework into the boxes, children will do that in order lines by lines according seating arrangements.

Procedures for keeping records and providing feedback to students:

The teacher will have a calendar about all the tasks to evaluate during the month, keeping organized students’ works by having carpets, thus the teacher could facilitate the evaluation process and the teacher could give feedback to students; also, parents could aware about teachers´ evaluation and their children´s progresses.

Procedures and policies for dealing with late and missing assignments:

ü  For students who present late assignments, teacher will ask the reason why they did not give it at the moment that it was required.
ü  Children has to present an available excuse to their works to be accepted. Then, the teacher reminder them the rules of the class: “We present the assignments on time”.
ü  Teacher will accept late and missing assignments making conscience to students that they must be updated.

At the end of every single day the teacher will provide a comfortable environment with soft music in order to students feel relax, then teacher will ask to the students how was the day? if it was boring or exciting and what they learnt at the day, on this way teacher can reflect on what she or he need to improve and thus create a different routine for children.
